Children need Family.

Rich or poor, big or small, biological or adoptive - families are fundamental. They give children love, care and belonging, and everything they need to reach their fullest potential.

But all too often children are deprived of family, and for reasons that are totally unnecessary.

Meet Marjo. When Marjo was four her mom placed her in an orphanage. She was a single mom, and poor. It took her four years to save the money to bring her daughter home. In the meantime, Marjo was abused in neglected. She fell behind in her development. She learned to steal and lie, and fight for attention from staff and volunteers.

Today, Marjo is home with her family. It hasn't been easy, and she still can't talk about her life at the orphanage. One thing she will tell you is how much she loves her mom (and her little sister).

80% of children in orphanages, like Marjo, have parents, who sith support, could care for them.

We exist to bring them home.

Please, join us.

The biggest obstacle between them?

Poverty.

Disability

Discrimination.

We believe we can do better.

We support families (not orphanages), so that children can grow up in families.

We help children in orphanages (and other difficult circumstances) to grow up with their parents, extended family or a foster family.

We Teach

What about partner? Yes, we do that too.

And women and girls? Most of who we support

And empowerment? We empower families.

And Transparency?

We are working towards a day when no child grows up in an orphanage. and every child grows up in a loving family.

We're working towards a day free of orphanages, where every child grows up in a loving family. Here's how:

Children Need Family.

Rich or poor, big or small, biological or adoptive - families are fundamental. They provide the love, care, and a sense of belonging that children need to grow and reach their full potential.

Too often children like Nancy, living in poor countries, are deprived of this fundamental need and for reasons that are completely unnecessary.

MEET NANCY

She's 8 year's old and currently living in <name of orphanage> because her mother couldn't afford her school fees.

Nancy deserves better. And we can do better.

We can do better.

Poverty shouldn’t drive a child out of her home and into an orphanage.

With a bit of support - less than what it costs to home a child in an orphanage - children like Nancy can stay at home. Where more than just her basics needs are met.

At home, in the care and protection of her family, Nancy can thrive.

Home Free is an innovative new charity that provides solutions that promote each individual child’s best interest. We’re breaking away from orphanages and investing in families.

Because children need family and we can do better.
