For what it costs to keep 1 child in an orphanage, we Support 30 in familIES!

Impact

We are helping 3,600 children and 1,200 family members through our programs. These children have all been supported to remain with their families, or reintegrated into family care with parents, next of kin, or foster or adoptive families. 

Highlights:

We have closed our first orphanage, reintegrating 36 children into family care.

We have started the first foster care program in western uganda. We have children in emergency and long-term foster care in their own communities. We have one one child who has been adopted by their foster parents through this initiative.

We have started the first gatekeeping program in western Uganda: involving police, social services, and community members in supporting family care, by teaching them how to identify vulnerable children and families, and how to refer them to family care agencies, instead of orphanages.
